SMS is really bad for everyone especially for in your exams.Using shortform is part of SINGLISH.The examiner will let you have lesser marks.

I agree. When people use SMS, they use shortforms of words. Sometimes, the shortforms get so funny that people do not understand.

I agree because if you are too used to SMS language, you will also write them in compositions accidentally. I play online games and sometimes use a lot of SMS language too! But I do not write them in compositions or on english papers. So everytime I want to make sure that I do not write them, I check through my papers thoroughly.

Maybe.As you can see, if you use SMS in short form, the people that you send the SMS to will get cofused as some short forms can stand for many things or words. In the other hand,SMS is good for you as when you can save pace and you can save time too. As you also know, time is very precious!

I agree sms language is bad for standard English.Because when you write sms language when you sms, you will write shortform like (you-u good-gd),than in the exam or any wrting essay, you will be writing sms language without knowing it.i say that because i have experienced it

i disagree, but also agree.As standed english's word sometime is too long and will somtimes forget how to spell it.while sms language will be much easier to remember as the words in standed english will be shorten.But writing too much sms language can reduce the things that we learn in standed english too so i think it have their advantage and disadvantage.

I agree. SMS language is bad english. If we often use SMS language and singlish, it may affect our english and we will often use them when we do writing. If we get used to it, our english may become poor. We should often speak standard english as it is very important. If we use SMS language or singlish in some important tests or examinations, our results will turn out to be bad. When we grow up and have to introduce ourself for a job, if we use SMS language or singlish, we may not be hired. When we have a job, if we talk to customers or others with singlish, they may have a bad impression of us. I agreed because i know that it is bad for my favourite subject,English.And in order to improve my english, i must use standard english instead of SMS language. Speaking standard english is very impotant too because when we grow up next time, we might need to use them for business talks with american people or others. If you speak badly in english, it might be a disgrace to Singapore or singaporeans. So i totally agreed that using SMS language is bad.

I agree that SMS language is bad for standard English. It is because SMS language is not a proper language. Although it is often use in mobile phone(when you send messages to your friends.),but in the exams for pupils like us,we cannot use this type of language.So, I hope pupils who like using this type of language will not use it in exams.

Agree but I also disagree. SMS language is bad for English but many Singaporeans use the language as it is more convinient.Although we type SMS language,we still know what we were doing as the pronounciation is the same the only thing is that we might not be able to distinguish right from wrong sometimes as we use both everyday.For teachers and adult thinks that SMS language will influence our English but they are thinking too much.....really really really thinking too much.....

I strongly agree that SMS Language is bad for standard English. Well, because there are just some very lazy people in this big, lazy and crowded world. Everyone with handphones type SMS, don't they? The problem with these people is they use some kind of wrong language.They type some long words into short form type of words, which is very wrong. I sure hope these people will change their bad habits.

I agree, because it is a bit like 'ah beng' language and my parents also do not approve of it-although they do type SMS language when they talk their friends online, but they still tell me not to type SMS language. I only know some SMS language, such as: 'b4', 'n' , 'noe' and 'lol'. These are some short forms that I have learnt when I saw my cousin chatting with her friends online-and they are quite common in SMS language. My knowledge of SMS language is very small but that's okay. It is not tested in the exams though.Funny how things work out!
